Send one photograph. It comes back restored within 24 hours, with three rounds of changes included and nothing printed until you have approved it.
Torn, faded, water-stained, creased, spotted with mould, soft focus — send the version you have. If it cannot be saved we will tell you before you pay
What is true of every order
- Worked on by hand
- Every photo is worked on by hand, one at a time, with professional retouching tools — used to repair what is in the photograph, never to generate what is not.
- One price, nothing billed on top
- Three rounds of changes are included, and shipping on the framed print is included. Nothing is charged on top later.
- Kept for a year, then deleted
- We keep the photographs for a year after you approve, so you can download again whenever you need to, then we delete them. Never published, never sold.
The guarantee
Nothing is final until you say so.
- You see the restoration beside your original before you keep it. Three rounds of changes are included, and each comes back within 24 hours.
- Nothing is printed until you have approved the restoration.
- Your original never leaves your house. Nothing fragile travels: we work only from the copy you send.
- Nothing is invented. We put back what is there, and where something is truly gone we tell you rather than fill the gap.
- If it still isn't what you hoped for at the end of the three rounds, we refund you in full. Print included, nothing to send back.
A refund goes back to the card or wallet you paid with, and usually appears within 5 to 10 business days. There is nothing to return: if a print has already been made, it stays with you.

Questions before you send it
Why pay for this when the AI tools are free?
You can use one, and it is worth trying first — it costs nothing, and on a lightly faded photograph it is often enough. The difference is not how good the picture looks. A generative tool does not repair your photograph; it makes a new one that resembles it, and where the damage took part of a face it fills the gap with what a face of that kind usually looks like. The gap closes, and whether what closed it belongs to the person in your photograph is not a question the tool is answering.
Here, what is still in the photograph is what gets put back, and where something is genuinely gone we say so and ask you what was there rather than inventing it. Then three rounds of changes, in your own words. One payment, no subscription. If you would rather settle it yourself than take our word for it: take a photograph where the damage crosses a face, run it through a free tool, and ask whether the face that comes back is the one you remember.
Do you need the original photograph posted to us?
No. Nothing fragile travels. A scan is ideal, and a photograph of the photograph taken on a phone works more often than people expect — flat, in daylight, no flash.
What if the photo is too far gone?
Then we say so, before you pay. Describe it through the free look on the home page, or email us the photograph itself, and we write back honestly, including when the answer is no. We would rather turn one down than take money for a disappointment.
Who actually sees the photograph?
The studio, while it is being worked on. If you ordered a print, the photograph also goes to Gelato, who print it — after you approve it, never before, and only to make your print.
When does the print get made?
Only after you approve. Then 6 to 15 business days — the print is made first, then shipped — with shipping included.
