Refund policy

The short version: you see the restoration before anything is final, you get three rounds of changes, and if it still is not right you get your money back in full.

Before you approve

When your restoration is ready we send you a link. It shows the restored photograph beside your original, and nothing happens until you decide. You can:

  • Approve it — your photograph are released, and if you ordered a print it goes to press then.
  • Ask for a change — three rounds are included, and each one comes back within 24 hours.
  • Ask a question — this never uses one of your rounds.

Nothing is printed until you have approved the restoration. That is the whole point of the review step.

If it still is not right

If you have used your three rounds and the result is still not what you hoped for, we refund you in full — the photograph, and the print if you ordered one. There is nothing to send back.

We would rather refund you than leave you with something you do not want. Ask on your review page, or write to contact@photomotif.com.

Cancelling

You can cancel and get a full refund at any time before you approve the restoration, whatever stage the work is at. Write to contact@photomotif.com.

After you approve

Approving releases your photograph and sends any print to press, so it is the point of no return. If something is wrong after that — the wrong file, a fault we missed, a print that does not match what you approved — tell us within 30 days and we will put it right or refund you.

Prints damaged or lost in transit

If your print arrives damaged, send us a photograph of it and of the packaging within 30 days of shipping and we will send a replacement at no cost. If it never arrives, tell us within the same 30 days and we will chase it or remake it.

A print is made to order and cannot be sold to anyone else, so we do not take change-of-mind returns on prints once they have been printed. That is exactly why nothing goes to press before you have seen the restoration and approved it.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to the payment method you used. They usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

Your statutory right to withdraw

We sell from France, so if you are a consumer in the European Union you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. Two parts of what we sell work differently under that law, and this is how:

  • The restored photograph. It is digital content. When you approve your restoration you are asking us to deliver it immediately, and by doing so you agree to the delivery starting before the 14 days are up and you acknowledge that your right to withdraw ends once it has been delivered. Until you approve, the right is untouched — and so is our own promise, which is that you can cancel for a full refund at any point before approval.
  • The framed print. It is made to your order from your own photograph and cannot be sold to anyone else, so the withdrawal right does not apply to it once it has been made. It is not made until you approve.

None of this limits your rights if what you receive is faulty or not what was described. Those rights exist whatever this page says.
